Nitibond Stapes Prosthesis

The NiTiBOND Stapes Prosthesis is a crimp-free prosthesis, that combines then proven properties of CliP Stapes Prostheses with the benefits of shape memory heat activated nitinol. The result is a unique, mucosal saving implant with an innovative coupling.

Suitable for all incus

Kurz have used their extensive experience in the development of stapes prostheses and knowledge of middle ear mechanics, to create the basis for the unique geometry of their nitinol loop that makes it suitable for almost all incus sizes.

The nitinol loop has four integrated contact zones, conforming to the asymmetrical dimensions of the incus. Additionally, the loop also features three independent activation zones that help prevent thermal transfer to the incus mucosa during laser activation. These activation zones can be sequentially closed producing a custom coupling to the incus.

Reduced risk in laser set up

The laser settings are determined outside the middle ear with the aid of the Thermo-Dummy. The dummy is delivered together with the NiTiBOND.

The NiTiBOND is supplied with its own Therm-Dummy. The dummy prosthesis allows the surgeon to determine the correct laser settings outside of the middle ear.
