Description
Optimized Fit
In a Total ossicular reconstruction, movements of the tympanic membrane can alter the position on an AERIAL implant on the stapes footplate. This can affect the acoustic transfer and ultimately patient outcomes. The OMEGA CONNECTOR is designed to compensate for these tympanic membrane movements and provide additional stability to KURZ Total Prostheses.
Flexible Joint Connection
With sufficient footplate access, it increases the implants medial surface contact. The micro ball connects with the cannulated stem of the KURZ total prosthesis. In this way, it accommodates drum to headplate angles without prosthesis manipulations.
Stable Connection
To first place the OMEGA CONNECTOR into the middle ear an aspiration tip is ideally used. The cupped medial end of the total prosthesis is assembled with the OMEGA in situ, this creates a snug and stable fit between the two prostheses make fixation with adhesive unnecessary. The undersurface of the OMEGA CONNECTOR’s shoe has a longitudinally milled recess to compensate for footplate irregularity.
The Omega Connector creates a modular system for all the KURZ Total prostheses range.
